The Winter Soccer Academy is designed keep everyone's soccer skills sharp
and in top soccer shape throughout the winter. Trainers Luis Quezada,
David McPherson and Tom Stroh and players from the North Bay Wave as
well as Drake High School are excited to get everyone out on the field
kicking the ball, rain or shine!
The 2015-2016 Winter Academy introduces participants to curriculum from
Brazilian, Argentinian, European and US Soccer Federations, creating a
fun and productive environment. The program provides players with
opportunities to problem solve and use their skills according to the
situation through compelling and rewarding games.
The Academy teaches new and inexperienced players the fundamentals of
soccer while helping to develop the skills and tactics of more experienced
players. The program also focuses on individual development which includes
speed and agility, skills training, ball manipulation, passing, receiving,
shielding and decision making. Our sessions progress into small sided games
and scrimmages. The Winter Academy will create an environment that encourages
free play as recommended by FIFA.
